Kachnar Shiva Temple - Jabalpur

The marble city of Jabalpur has another pride to showcase - The 76 ft. tall Lord Shiva Statue also known as Kachnar City Shiva Temple. Built in 2004 and open to public in 2006, this is one of the highest Lord Shiva statues in the country and is visited by many devotees from all across. 

Depiction of 12 Jyotirlingas

The statue is built on a cave that has depictions of the 12 Jyotirlingas which have been collected through various shrines all across the country. Devotees can enter the cave and see the beautiful Jyotirlingas to seek blessings. 

About the Statue and the temple compound

The statue is white in color, however it appears as Shiva blue in the night with the help of lights. You can see the same in the photo besides. 

The temple compound is large, green and very well maintained. Visitors can roam round and cherish the serenity of the place amidst the city life.

Major Attractions

In front of the Lord Shiva statue, there is a statue of his vehicle, 'Lord Nandi' and the jetwater from the dreadlocks of Shiva is a major attraction. Apart from this, the regular celebration of Aarti in the evening (around 7PM) and especially on Makar Sankranti is a major attraction for the devotees as well as the visitors. Do make some time to visit it during that time.

How to Visit

It is situated in the Vijay Nagar area of Jabalpur and can be easily reached by public transport.
